Coerver Scheduling Update

As the evenings are getting darker we have to make adjustments for our Coerver Coaching sessions.

This week's sessions will be moved back 15 minutes, so the first session will be from 5.15pm to 6.15pm and the second will be from 6.15pm to 7.15pm. As always, Coerver training sessions will take place at Kerr Field.

Beacon Soccer Club Travel Program
Tryouts Fall 2018/Spring 2019


Beacon Soccer Club offers a travel program for players looking for a more advanced soccer experience. Our travel program is a competitive endeavor requiring a higher level of commitment both in time and financially. We hold tryouts in May of each year. There is a limited roster sized which means not every player trying out will make the team. Please check the TRAVEL TRYOUTS section located under the TRAVEL tab for specific information regarding dates/times/locations and age groups.

Print out and bring a Travel Tryout Form to every session your player attends. These will be used for attendance.

Our club competes in the East Hudson Youth Soccer League (EHYSL) which is affiliated with Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) and the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). There are separate teams and divisions for girls and boys. Level of competition and training prepares players for high school level of play. We also stress sportsmanship, fitness, organization, team commitment and other skills the young players will keep with them the rest of their lives.

Travel teams practice two times a week during the fall and spring at our fields in Beacon. Practices may start any time after 5pm. During the winter, there are indoor practices once/week in an indoor facility. As travel soccer requires a higher level of commitment, attendance at practices is expected.

Games are normally scheduled Sunday afternoons between 12:00 noon and 5:00 PM. The fall season starts first week of September and runs until the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The spring season begins the first Sunday in April and runs until mid-June. There are typically 8-10 games scheduled in the fall and 8-10 scheduled in the spring. One half of these games are played at our home fields in the Beacon area, including Beacon High School, Memorial Park, or Sargent Soccer Fields. The other half of games are played against other soccer clubs from Putnam, Dutchess, Westchester, Orange, and Ulster counties.

There are no games scheduled Labor Day weekend, Columbus Day weekend, Easter, Passover, or Memorial Day weekend, but individual teams may elect to participate in tournaments those weekends. Teams may also compete in indoor tournaments and/or winter leagues sponsored by other clubs or venues.

We provide our coaches with licensing and training opportunities. All travel coaches are required to complete at least an 'F' license course from USSF. Some have decades of playing experience in addition to coaching experience at the youth soccer and high school levels.

Message to Beacon Soccer Club Members -  Fall 2018 SEASON

Dear Beacon Soccer Club members,
         Another fun filled season of soccer is about to kick-off and the BSC Board thought that this would be a great opportunity to provide you with some important information regarding the upcoming season.

Field Prep & Clean Up:

In order for fields to ready for the start of the season the Beacon Soccer Club is asking for volunteers to assist with field prep and clean up on Saturday morning, September 9th.

Season Length & Game schedules:

The Fall 2017 season will start on Saturday, September 16 and conclude on Saturday, November 11th.

Please note:

* Games will be played on Saturday unless otherwise indicated on your teams’ schedule
* Picture Day is scheduled for September 23rd, raindate September 30th.
* Games are scheduled for Saturday of Columbus Day weekend.

Schedules and other important information including updates on weather related delays and cancellations will be posted on the club website and Beacon Soccer Club Facebook page.  

Uniforms & Equipment:

ALL players will be issued a uniform for the Fall 2017/Spring 2018 season.


Please ensure that your child brings proper fitting shin guards with them to every game and practice. No Shin Guards- No Play! It is also recommended that you buy your child a ball which should also be brought with them to every practice session.


Beacon Soccer Club is 100% volunteer operated. We receive NO financial assistance from Beacon Recreation and the Beacon School district. As a result, we are solely responsible for conducting/ or paying for all tasks required to maintain and grow the club. For example: volunteers are at the field as early as 6.00am on Saturday morning to ensure that the fields lined, restroom facilities are clean and that the concession stand has those delicious (and very reasonably priced) breakfast sandwiches ready to go when you arrive at the field. Many of these volunteers are also the same ones who stay after the last games are played to assist with clean up and close out activities.

Great question! Thanks for asking...
The fact is that BSC is always on the look-out for new volunteers. Opportunities exist or can be created for anyone that has an interest in getting involved and making a positive impact on our club and community. Even if you only have a few minutes available, you can greatly assist by ensuring that water & sports drink bottles are properly placed in one of the many garbage receptacles that are located around the fields.
Please feel free to contact any member of the board in you have an interest in finding out more information on how you can get involved.


Beacon City School administration continues to voice concerns regarding the parking situation at Sargent School. They have kindly asked that BSC members refrain from parking in the following areas:
* Fire lanes
* Grass around Administration Building
* Parking spots designated for Superintendent of schools.
We think that this is a fair request! Please assist us in maintaining our excellent relationship with the school administration by complying with their request. Additional parking is available in the lower lots which can be accesses through the entrance route 9D entrance into Sargent School.

Registration for Fall 2017/Spring 2018

In–House Registration Procedures and Deadlines

Registration for the Fall2017/Spring 2018 is currently open. If you are registering your child, or children, to join us next season please log onto your account and register prior to July 15th. After June 15th, we close registration to determine division capacities. Fees this year will remain the same, with the exception of the LDT, which will run a full year. 

If you would like to coach a team or volunteer in other areas, please register. ALL VOLUNTEERS must complete Risk Management (background check), Concussion Protocol and upload a recent picture of yourself. We are continuously looking for volunteers. The Beacon Soccer Club has a major need for coaches at all levels and divisions. 

The registration timeline is as follows:

April 27th: Registration Opens

July 15th: Registration Closes

August 1st: Board determines Division Capacities

August 5th: Registration  re-opens and Late Fee applied ($25 Per registered player)

August 10th: Players/Coaches/Sponsors assigned to teams.

August 20th: Final adjustments made to rosters

August 21st: Teams become active and everyone will be notified of their teams.

August 25th: Division Schedules to be completed 

September 9th: Opening Day

We ask that any special requests be noted in the comments section and that we will make every reasonable effort to accommodate such requests. Please keep in mind that requests may not be granted based on the needs of the team and/or division. Specifically in competitive divisions, Peewee and Intermediate, in order to maintain competive balance.

All families registering more than 1 child will receive a $15 discount for each child after the first registered player.

Any player that is playing travel and in-house may use the code TS1718 on their in-house registration to receive a discount.
